Senior Frontend-Focused Full-Stack Engineer

Job description

At Attendi, we believe in care with attention.
A place where healthcare professionals and clients truly have the time to get to know each other. Because good care starts with a good relationship. Technology can play a crucial role in this when it’s empathetic, supportive, and smart. We develop AI solutions that give healthcare professionals their time back: less screen, more human.

With Attendi, healthcare professionals report by simply speaking. They report by voice in the Electronic Client File, and they can also use the Attendi App to record conversations and have them automatically converted into reports. Ten thousand healthcare professionals use our technology every day, resulting in hundreds of thousands of reports and more time for clients.

We are growing fast, driven by the trust of healthcare providers and professionals who rely on our solutions daily. As we continue to scale, we are looking for passionate engineers who want to make a tangible difference in healthcare, while working with cutting-edge technology in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

The Role: Frontend-Focused Full-Stack Engineer

As our Frontend-Focused Full-Stack Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping user-facing experiences for our speech-to-text solutions and developing products. You'll be responsible for both the frontend and backend layers, with a strong focus on building high-quality, reusable UI components and ensuring smooth integration with our backend services.

You’ll closely collaborate with backend engineers, frontend developers, UX designers, and key stakeholders to deliver solutions that are both technically sound and aligned with product goals and user needs.

This role bridges design and functionality — helping voice-enable electronic health record (EHR) systems through intuitive, high-performance interfaces. You’ll contribute to internal tools as well as open-source initiatives that extend our platform's impact.

And that’s just the beginning.

Attendi has built a strong user base with its API-first speech-to-text solutions and client SDKs, which are used and loved by healthcare professionals through our integrations with EHR vendors. Currently, our users only interact with our products inside their existing EHR systems.

But why stop there? We want to give healthcare professionals the ability to benefit from our functionalities whenever, and from wherever they like — beyond the boundaries of traditional systems.

We’re entering an exciting new phase, and as a frontend engineer, you will have a defining role in the development of our new (greenfield) products that bring this ambition to life:

  • Attendi’s first external full-stack application, which we like to think of as the healthcare sector’s notepad. Our ambition is for this application to become the default write-layer when persisting medical data into information systems, akin to a doctor or nurse’s notepad. But of course, it’s not just a simple notepad. It will be powered by deeply integrated speech-to-text and machine learning solutions, enabling effortless, structured documentation while staying close to the natural workflow of healthcare professionals.

  • A powerful web extension that allows Attendi’s speech-to-text to be used in any text field imaginable. Today, our microphone is only visible in specific text fields within integrated EHR systems. But what if a healthcare professional uses an EHR we haven’t integrated with yet? Or wants to use it when writing a referral letter in their email client? This extension will unlock those use cases — bringing our technology wherever documentation happens.

You’ll work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to translate these ambitious ideas into intuitive, reliable user interfaces. You’ll play a central role in shaping the frontend vision, strategy, and execution for these products, laying the technical foundation and setting the bar for quality, usability, and maintainability.

This is a unique opportunity to work on products from the ground up, influence architectural decisions, and directly improve how healthcare professionals work every day. You'll have the freedom to innovate, experiment, and push the boundaries of what’s possible — all while contributing to a mission that matters.

What you'll do:

  • Implement and optimize web-based user interfaces for our speech-to-text solutions and products

  • Develop and maintain backend services within our Django (Python) application

  • Build and maintain production-grade, reusable web components using Lit, enabling voice features in EHR partner applications

  • Lead our frontend strategy, ensuring consistent implementation and appearance across projects, and maximizing code reuse

  • Contribute to our open-source projects, such as @attendi/speech-service, and expand our reusable component ecosystem

  • Collaborate across disciplines to ensure product alignment with user needs and goals

  • Ensure performance, accessibility, and maintainability through best practices and robust testing

  • Help establish and improve frontend development workflows, code standards, and documentation practices

  • Actively seek user feedback and translate insights into better interfaces and features
